ATC issues non-bailable warrants against PAT Secretary General, five others

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore issued non-bailable warrants against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and five other party leaders and declared them proclaimed offenders on Tuesday.

The court was hearing a petition filed against the leader.

Lahore's Faisal Town police had lodged a case against seven nominated persons, including general-secretary Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and Sheikh Fayyaz and CSO Altaf Shah, eight unidentified gunmen and hundreds of unidentified workers accusing them of attacking policemen during the Model Town clash between police and PAT activists on June 17 which had claimed the lives of at least 14 persons.

The case was lodged under Sections 302/34, 324, 353, 148,149, 290, 291 of the Pakistan Penal Code and 7-Anti Terrorism Act.

The accused persons had failed to appear before the court despite several summons issued against them.

ATC Judge Rai Ayub Khan Marth issued the warrants over the recommendation of the investigating officer in the case and ordered for the arrest of all accused persons.

It appears that Anti terrorism Court is run by terrorists itself. This agency is being used by the Government (rulers) as a tool to suppress and punish opponents. The real terrorists and killers are walking free while the workers of P.T.I and P.A.T are being hounded and terrorized.

What a shameful act? You killed 14 of their supporters, now want to arrest PAT's Secretary General implicating with non-bailable warrant! This is an insult to the injury! With this comment, I want PAT and public to remember this atrocity till next election by voting out these feudals!
