ISLAMABAD: With three more children falling victim to poliovirus the total number of cases reported this year increased to 260.

The Polio Virology Laboratory at the National Institute of Health Services confirmed on Friday two polio cases from Balochistan and one from Fata, an official said.

Eleven-month-old Umer Sadiq hailing from Ajab Talab village in Sheen Drang tehsil of Khyber Agency has been identified as the new victim. He has not received polio drops.

Eighteen-month-old Amina, a resident of UC 10-B village in Taj Masjid Tarkha tehsil of Quetta, did not receive vaccination because her parents refused.

The third patient is Shah Zaman, a resident of UC Khand in Khuzdar tehsil.
