Two people killed in Quetta shooting

QUETTA: Armed militants killed two people in Sariab road area of Quetta on Tuesday night.

A police official told Dawn.com that armed men on motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire at a shop in Burma Hotel area of Sariab road. The victims were identified as father and son.

The police official said the assailants sped away on their motorcycles after the shooting.

The dead bodies were brought to civil hospital Quetta for postmortem.

Shopkeepers pulled down their shutters after the incident, which caused panic in the area.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Earlier in the day, armed motorcyclists opened an indiscriminate fire at a Levies check post in Khanozai area of Pishin.

They gunmen killed a levies personnel deployed at the checkpost and sped away on their motorcycles after the incident.
