PARIS: Organisers of Euro 2016 on Tuesday unveiled the tournament mascot, a cartoon boy in the France team kit with a red cape fluttering behind.

The mascot, which has yet to be named and was unveiled on Twitter, was due to make its first public appearance later on Tuesday before a friendly between France and Sweden at Stade Velodrome in Marseille.

It will be named later this month after a vote by fans. The new mascot is taking over Slavek and Slavko, the twin figures in football kits of Poland and Ukraine who were chosen for the previous tournament.
