Clarification

PESHAWAR: Apropos a news item headlined ‘PTI no different from PML-N’ by our Mansehra correspondent, published in Dawn’s Metro North (KP edition) and on Page 7 in other editions on Oct 30, 2014, some of the quotes in the report were wrongly attributed to the Jamaat-i-Islami Emir, Sirajul Haq.

An internal investigation carried out by Dawn suggests that the JI chief neither compared the PTI with PML-N, nor he directly criticised Imran Khan and his party. The matter is being further investigated.

Any distress caused to any individual or political party as a result of this misreporting is deeply regretted.—Editor
