LAHORE: The LHC suspended on Thursday an order by the Trade Union registrar where the Air League was declared a CBA replacing the People’s Unity of PIA Employees.

The court ordered that position prevailing prior to referendum be maintained.

Justice Ayesha A Malik passed the order on a petition by People’s Unity against the order of a NIRC member.

Petitioner’s counsel MA Ghani submitted the NIRC member held that no secrecy was maintained during the PIA referendum. He said the member remanded the case to the Registrar of Trade Unions and did not set aside the impugned order which was against the law.

The court suspended the operation of order of registrar and adjourned the matter till Nov 18.

Mr Ghani said Air League had seized to be CBA of employees of PIA and People’s Unity, which was CBA prior to the holding of referendum, has been restored as CBA.
