Rallies against Indian attacks today

KARACHI: The Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen, Sunni Tehreek and Jamaatud Dawa have announced plans to stage protest demonstrations on Friday against what they described as repeated violation of the Line of Control and attacks on Pakistan by Indian forces.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday at Pak Moharram Hall, MWM secretary general Allama Raja Abbas Jafri said that Friday would be observed as ‘Defence of Pakistan Day’ to condemn the provocative firing and shelling across the LoC in Kashmir.

“That is a provocative measure and Pakistani nation will give them a crushing response,” said the MWM leader.

The Sunni Tehreek, meanwhile, announced that ‘Protest and Condemnation Day’ would be observed across the country against Indian aggression.

Addressing party workers at a meeting held at the ST office, ST chief Mohammad Sarwat Ejaz Qaderi said the entire nation protesting against Indian aggression.

JuD Emir Hafiz Mohammad Saeed also appealed to the people to observe a day of protest on Friday across the country against Indian terrorism and pass resolutions condemning the Indian aggression.

Our diplomatic presence and equity can not match India. our economy is no match, our armed forces are no match, our forex reserves are no match and population is no match. On what basis are these Jihadis talking of crushing response? Instead, our PM should take initiative to talk to Modi and sort this out peacefully.

Did any protest by Palestinians or Kashmiris stop the aggressors? It doesn't work because protest is the sign of weakness that encourages aggressor and only the counter blow can stop aggression. It is not difficult to make out that India is following a foreign script to destabilize the region.

@Ahmed Khan Great comment! I have never understood the Pakistani elite's compulsion to compete with India. India does not compete with anyone, not China, US etc. So why this behavior by the army and politicians? Its high time people in Pakistan realize this and put a stop to this destructive behavior. I am sure there are many other issues in Pakistan, as there are in India, no need for this.

Sanjay K: you are wrong. India is doing much worse then competing. Indian state is using Afghan soil to support terrorism inside Pakistan. India is building dams on our rivers which results in floods in rainy season and diverting water in dry season. India is occupying Siachen since 1984 and Kashmir since 1947 resulting in over 100.000 Kashmiri being killed in our life time. The genocide of 300.000 Kashmiris in Jammu by Indian agencies in 1947/48 is enough to put even the hardest souls in shame.

@Ahmed Khan: You have hit the nail on the head. Simply put, Pakistan should do what's good for the country rather than going into emotionalism. If the army can capture Kashmir without putting the economy, national security, the population, international relations and Pakistan's international support, by all means it should do so. Otherwise, it should learn from China, which ceased border tensions despite having the heavier hand. What is more important? Shouldn't right now, be the time to stabilize the country from within? As for Hafeez Saeed, he should display his mettle in elections and get elected to display that is viewpoint is right and the whole of Pakistan is behind him. But he will never do so. Emotionalism leads to nothing and slowly but steadily Hafeez Saeed and his cronies have lost their grip even over the illiterate people, simply because they are illiterate but not idiots. They will recognize what works for them, sooner or later. Pakistan should decide whether it wants to fight poverty or fight India and India should do the same with Pakistan.

This is a bad time for LeT or Dawa, whatever the new name is these days. Their terrorists could not infiltrate the border this year before the snow falls. The firing on the border was a cover for his men to go into India but the Indians retaliated heavily and have rattled every one doing politics on Kashmir.

What else can he do? When you have all the time and nothing productive to do for Pakistan, this is the best way to keep everyone occupied. Who cares about the impact on the economy of Pakistan. Destroy lot of properties of hard working citizens of Pakistan, Close down all the shops in the neighborhood, No need to send children to school. Close down all the Pakistani Government offices (No one works there any way). Good Luck Pakistan

@Nawaz Sharif man do you really study. Just go to some neutral source and read who attacked Kashmir in 1948. Kashmir was peacefull upto 1989 till out neighbour started sending their peacelover messangers with gun. Also what Paksitani forces had done in Bangladesh and Poland . Ckeck it on neutral sources not on any Pakistani or Indian source.
