LAHORE: Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique has visited Ferozewala, Rana Town and Muridke for monitoring dengue surveillance, says a handout.

Khwaja Salman directed the Health Services director general to initiate departmental proceedings against Sheikhupura District Officer (Health) Dr Nadeem Suhail for his poor performance and issue a warning letter to Muridke Deputy District Officer Dr Muneer Ghari.

Moreover, the adviser also visited urban union councils of Muridke on the 2nd day of Eid for dengue surveillance.

He said Ferozewala and Muridke were very sensitive areas with regard to dengue. He advised the people that they should remove stagnant water from their premises and cover water tanks to check dengue breeding.

Meanwhile, Salman Rafique along with Lahore District Coordination Officer Muhammad Usman also visited Gulshan-i-Ravi on Eid day and distributed sweets among the workers conducting dengue surveillance.

Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that following Sunnat of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) on Eidul Azha reminds us of sharing the joys with our sisters and brothers in distress. He said on the occasion of Eid, the Punjab government did not forget those affected by the flood.

He was talking to media men while celebrating Eidul Azha with flood-affected people in Hafizabad and other districts. He offered Eid prayers with flood-hit people in Hafizabad and distributed Eid gifts besides supervising the process of distribution of relief assistance.

The minister visited the residence of Inamullah Khan Niazi and Hafeezullah Niazi and expressed condolences with them over the death of their younger brother, Muslim League MPA Najeebullah Khan Niazi. He also offered Fateha and prayed for the departed soul.
