LAKKI MARWAT: Two mobile vans of Nadra would be sent to the district to enable displaced people of North Waziristan Agency to get computerised national identity cards without facing any difficulty, said Commissioner Syed Mohsin Shah.

He was talking to a committee of IDPs here on Thursday. Brig Mukhtiar, Deputy Commissioner Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ihsanullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Qayyum Nawaz and Frontier Region of Lakki Assistant Political Agent Abdul Kabeer were also present on the occasion.

Brig Mukhtiar said that mobile vans would be at the disposal of district administration and the facility should be used to assist IDPs in getting their CNICs. He said that funds would be arranged for the repair and rehabilitation of damaged tubewells in the area.

“The rehabilitation of damaged and faulty water supply schemes will help to resolve the problems of shortage of drinking water faced by displaced tribal families and local population of the district,” Brig Mukhtiar said.

He said that more medicines would be supplied to the hospitals in the district if local health authorities forwarded any demand in that regard.

The commissioner directed the executive engineer of public health engineering department and assistant commissioner to send a list of damaged tubewells in Lakki and Naurang cities and rural localities to his office so that sufficient funds could be arranged for their repair.

Mr Shah said that additional tents would be provided for disbursement among IDPs as per demand made by the local administration. He directed the deputy commissioner to approach Pesco executive engineer for electricity connections and installation of meters at the houses where displaced families were staying.

The commissioner said that government was committed to resolve all problem faced by the displaced people of North Waziristan Agency. Any negligence by government officials in that regard would not be tolerated, he added.

Later, Commissioner Mohsin Shah and Brig Mukhtiar met the members of Marwat Qaumi Jirga and lauded their role in elimination of terrorism and militancy.

The jirga members apprised the officials of the problems faced by the local people in getting drinking water and other facilities. They demanded of the officials to launch work on cadet college project.
