PESHAWAR: The CECOS University Peshawar on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Islamic University, Malaysia to promote research and academic cooperation between the two institutions of higher learning. Dr Sheroz Khan from the International Islamic University Malaysia and CECOS University vice chancellor Dr Riaz Khattak signed the MoU, according to a press release issued here.

Under the agreement, the two universities would work together towards pursuing goals of internationalisation of education. They would also promote educational and academic exchanges, besides organising joint conferences, workshops and seminars.

On the occasion, CECOS University president Engineer Tanveer Javed extended his thanks and good wishes to the rector of International Islamic University Malaysia for posing confidence in the varsity in working together towards achieving excellence in professional education in engineering, computer science, management and biosciences.

Later, Dr Sheroz also met with the faculty and took a round of the university campus.

Meanwhile, the Awami National Party has appointed Wisal Mohammad Khan as provincial coordinator of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nangyalai Pakhtun. A notification in this regard was issued by Mohammad Rasool Khan, central Salar of Nangyalai Pakhtun, upon approval of the party’s leadership, according to a press release issued from the Bacha Khan Markaz on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party president Ameer Haider Hoti has expressed condolence with the family of Allah Nawaz Khan, the former chairman of zakat and usher, Dera Ismail Khan.

In a statement on Saturday, he prayed to Allah to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
