SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha (UoS) on Wednesday announced the results of BA/BSc annual examinations 2014.

According to the results announced by Examinations Controller Prof Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, 25,007 candidates appeared for the examinations out of which 8,516 were successful. The passing percentage was 34.11.

In BA, 19,819 candidates appeared and 6,450 remained successful making the passing percentage 32.60. In the BSc exams, 5,188 candidates appeared out of which 2,066 were successful and the passing percentage remained 39.93.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry announced Rs6,000 for the examination staff for preparing the results within the stipulated time of 60 days. Punjab College of Science Jauharabad student Shanza Hasan clinched the overall first position in the BA/BSc examinations with 688 marks.

Bree Sultan, a private candidate, scored 618 marks and clinched the first position in the BA exams. Naqeeb Ahmad, a student of Superior College Sargodha with 606 marks; Muhammad Adnan, a private candidate with 606 marks; and Aqsa Yousaf with 606 marks shared the second position. A private candidate Riaz Hussain Kazmi scored 605 marks and got the third position.

Shanza Hasan, a student of Punjab College of Jauharabad with 688 marks, stood first in the BSc exams. Imran Husain, a Government College Bhakkar student with 679 marks, clinched the second position. Nadia Batool of the Superior College Sargodha scored 664 marks and claimed the third position. Certificates, shields and cash prizes were also given away to the position holders.
