NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A gang of eight armed men barged into a house and shot dead a 19-year-old youth and wounded three other inmates in Kirio village in this district on Tuesday.

Waseem Ahmed was killed and his father, Ilahi Bukhsh Soomro and brothers Allah Dino Soomro and Juman Soomro were wounded in the attack carried out in the small hours of the day.

Ilahi Buksh Soomro and Juman Soomro were referred to a Nawabshah hospital due to their critical condition.

A large number of the Soomro community members along with other villagers took the body to the Moro By pass on the National Highway to hold a demonstration against police.

They told the media that some members of the Almani community had been picked up on a criminal complaint lodged against them by the bereaved family some three months ago. They alleged that the suspects were let off and they carried out the attack to avenge the registration of the case against them.

SHO of the New Jatoi police station, however, said the suspect had never been picked up.

Naushahro Feroze DSP Aijaz Memon, who persuaded the protesters to disperse peacefully, assured them that the culprits would be arrested soon.
