LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court Lahore registry seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf parliamentarians and a treason case against them allegedly for trying to create anarchy in the country.

Petitioner H.M Mujahid also seeks a treason case against Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of the PML-Q and Sheikh Rasheed of the Awami Muslim League.

The petitioner, through his counsel A.K Dogar, pleads that the respondents have been violating the Constitution by holding marches and sit-ins outside the Parliament House.

He says fundamental rights of citizens have been seized due to protest by the respondents.

The petitioner asks the court to order the federal government to initiate treason proceedings against the respondents for launching unconstitutional protests.
