Chinese race car enthusiasts, Wang Yu and Li Lintao, both in their 30s, have made two replicas of the Lamborghini Diablo, which can reach the top speed of 310km/h.
The duo is currently working on a replica of the T-Rex motorcycle.
They spent approximately 5 million Yuan (around USD811,899) to buy parts and hire workers, and about six years to assemble them with the knowledge they gained from studying mechanology for nearly a decade abroad.
Yu and Lintao became popular after showing their first handmade replica of Lamborghini Diablo at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition in 2012, and sold their second Lamborghini replica to Alibaba as a collection.

celebrating plagiarism is encouraging plagiarism.
today there are companies that steal designs of branded clothes to high end smartphones to cars and cause loss to the creators.

A more expensive replica? Doesn't make any sense. The real one costs USD 300K to 500K.

@Amarnath boo hoo. This is what free market is. Look at micromax and all the other mobile companies. All replicas made in china. Yet they do a lot of business

@Amarnath yes, Chinese are good in copying and it's in their blood. Every fighter jet, air craft carrier is a copy of the west. But several of their inventions were copied by west such as rockets, gun powder and medicines. What goes around comes around

Why spend that much on a replica! When you can get the real thing for less ! Also may I point out they just assembled the parts! Here in uk there are many replica kits available . From ferraris to lambos etc etc

They spent over $800,000 to build a Diablo Clone?? This is poorly built considering they spent over 8 times what a second market genuine Lamborghini Diablo costs. I have seen better quality Lamborghini clones built for a tiny percent of what they spent. Poor job.

Yes, they can even make a replica of space shuttle if provided with the right resources. Nevertheless, what happens to R&D and billions of dollars invested in it?

Important issue is speed and 0-310 mph pick up and durable and reliable performance . rest is not so important. If Chinese duo can master the techno part of the auto world - rest is easy - Soon they can market their own brand . Lambor is only good as their is no other car can complete - If once their another car - be it Chinese or Sudanese - does not matter to the public - Public wants speed - pickup - performance - that all it counts. Congratulations ! Seems Italian high speed days over . Now general public can ride on magnetic high speed train 300 mph from Shanghai airport to center of city - without spilling your coke or coffee .. smooth ride.

The 'great Super Power' ! All it can do is steal and copy a design from a small European country!
Be it Apple products, Microsoft windows, Gucci, Louis Viton, Rolex .... you name it, the great Chinese Super Power is just a glorified counterfeiter - nothing more. Other than Soy sauce there is nothing original that came out of that country !

Flagrant disregard for numerous patents owned by various companies. They should be sued instead of being celebrated for making knock offs of the original thing.

Well West had Copied once the "Chinese Paper" centuries ago...Chinese have complete right to replicate any thing from any place in the world. Because what "Paper" has given to us? Has no parallel.

@a_writer : Soy sauce is Japanese. LOL but on a serious note: Didn't they invent the gun powder? Wasn't tea their original discovery, just like coffee by a bedouin shepherd.
