The activists of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistani Awami Tehrik (PAT) reached Islamabad late Friday to protest against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections and to present their demands of electoral and administrative reform.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan spoke to a large gathering of supporters at 4AM, and said that he will not leave till PM Nawaz Sharif resigns. At the end of his speech, he invited supporters to reconvene at the same place at 3pm Saturday.

Dr Qadri delayed his address to supporters due to ill health.

The government which was initially reluctant to allow the marchers finally gave its nod on Thursday evening, formally permitting the supporters and activists of both parties to march on the capital but warning over crossing any red lines and telling the marchers to stay away from the capital's Red Zone area.
