Addressing a meeting held to review the city’s crime rate, he directed the officers to take effective steps to curb crime and ensure maximum relief to the citizens.

He ordered constitution of special teams to arrest proclaimed offenders as well as court absconders, at the earliest.

The SSP directed to launch an effective crackdown against car thieves by setting up special teams to ensure their arrests and to take prompt action to stop auto-theft incidents with high vigilance at important markets, shopping areas and exit points of the city.

He demanded strict patrolling and vigilance to stop car thefts and to send policemen to other districts to recover stolen vehicles, which are driven away from Islamabad.

He asked all police officials to adopt professional and responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

He focused on resolving public complaints and addressing citizens’ grievances on immediate basis to improve the people’s confidence in the police department.

The SSP said that first information reports (FIRs) must be registered at police stations on merit, without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.

He asked all the investigation officers to ensure completion of inquiry of various cases.

SSP Nekokara further directed the police officials to brief their staff at the police pickets and to keep them alert. He said Islamabad police were determined to ensure safety of people and to leave no stone unturned to fulfill their responsibility.
