GROWERS at the tail-end of the Puraan distributary (more than 100 villages) have been without water for many months. Various crops on thousands of acres have been destroyed. The water required for the distributary is at its full gauge, yet the growers at the tail-end are crying for water so as to earn their living. Irrigation department officials, from top to bottom, are in cahoots with water thieves having their lands at the head of the canal. All growers at the tail-end have been left desolate and penniless by the department concerned and the big growers.

The tail-enders demand that justice be provided to them by managing water at the tail, making up for the loss they have suffered and punishment to those responsible for this state of affairs.
