PM demands end to "genocide of Palestinians"

ISLAMABAD: Terming Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza as “genocide”, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday urged the international community to play its part in stopping Israel from the “naked and brutal aggression.”

In an official statement issued from the PM House, he said the crimes against innocent civilians – women, children and elderly people – in Gaza were unparalleled in the recent history of the world.

The prime minister's statement comes as the death toll in the eight-day long Israeli offensive against Palestinians in Gaza nears 200.

“I am saddened and disappointed to note the silence of international community against this injustice,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said.

“The silence and ineffectiveness of the Muslim Ummah has made Palestinians more vulnerable and made Israel more aggressive.”

“The world must stop Israel from this naked and brutal aggression,” he said.

PM Sharif, you are the head of a country that boasts one of the largest army in the world, and is capable of striking Israel through missile and jet attacks. I'm not saying that Pakistan needs to take military action, but just the mere threat to the Israeli government of possible military action can be a major game changer in this on-going genocide of Palestinians.

@Truthy Yes! And righty so. Our founding father Quad-e-Azam sent 500 Muslim fighters to Indonesia to fight aganst the colonial rule when we did not even have a country of our own threatening the British with civil disobidiance. He also protested aganst the establishment of Israel on Muslim lands. Nawaz Sharif's lip service pail in comparison.

It is the rule of the world that any demands without proper force backup is simply a request. Pakistan should make alliance with Turkey for an army base and make a genuine threat together with capable Muslim majority states. One serious threat from Pakistan with a force backup will serve as a strong deterrance for a future bombardment of Gaza. But paying lipservice from an aircon room in Islamabad is less of a hassle I guess :)

Mr Sharif you could have said this before, i know you have no power or courage to make any step other than that so better make a statement before not after a week. 5 fingers to all the heads of Muslim countries who did not even bother to raise the voice against the Israel (JEWS) even after what they have done to the people of Palestine.

Pakistan should lobby Palestine and initiate to provide defensive support bring other powerful countries to help build their military capabilities. Anyway possible with intelligence, air defense, naval, basic infrastructure, diplomatic relationship etc. May Allah bless all the Palestinians, and punish those who creating all the suffers.

@Ahmed "send some Army to help them" NO, PLEASE, last time we have sent a regiment under the leader ship the then Brigadier Zial ul Haq in late 70s and he and his regiment managed to kill 25,000 Palestinians in just a matter of few days.
