**PESHAWAR: One more person admitted at the Hayatabad Medical Complex for treatment of Congo fever passed away on Friday, a hospital official said.

Nawab Ali, a butcher by profession, was admitted to the hospital on July 9.

Tauheed Zulfiqar, a media officer at the complex, told Dawn that four out of the nine patients diagnosed with symptoms of the virus and admitted at the hospital in the past four months had died.

The official added that two of the dead were Afghan nationals, including 30-year-old Abdullah and a teenage girl named Roona.

The official said a hospital staffer Abdul Jalil was the third person who lost his life due to the virus.

Jalil contracted the virus through a patient, the official said, adding that the hospital staffer died even before his test reports could confirm the disease.

Three out of the nine admitted patients managed to regain health. The remaining two admitted are still undergoing treatment.
