PESHAWAR: Security forces on Friday arrested four suspected militants in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber tribal region during a search operation.

Upon receiving a tip off regarding the presence of suspected militants in a compound in the area, a joint team of personnel from the Khasadar force and the Frontier Corps (FC) conducted a raid in the locality.

The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation. However, the search operation was still underway.

Previously, over 40 suspected militants were arrested during a search operation conducted by security forces in collaboration with the local political administration in Jamrud tehsil on June 15.

The exercise was conducted in light of frequent incidents of targeted killing, kidnapping for ransom and other terrorist activities in the region.
