ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has donated over 10 million doses of polio vaccine to Pakistan to ensure that every Pakistani intending to travel abroad gets the vaccine.

During the World Health Assembly meeting held in May, the Saudi government had pledged to donate vaccine to Pakistan.

Two consignments containing 10,035,000 doses of vaccine arrived at the Islamabad airport. Officials of the Saudi Embassy received the consignment and handed over it to the authorities of Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI).
