KARACHI: A police head constable was shot dead in Pak Colony on Tuesday night.

Head Constable Malik Naseem was attacked soon after he came out of his home in Hasrat Mohani Colony, said Site SP Fida Hussain Janwari. He sustained a single bullet wound in the head fired and was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

It was an act of targeted killing, added the officer. The victim was posted in police headquarters.

MQM worker killed

A Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was gunned down in Nazimabad on Tuesday evening, police said.

They added that after closing his shop of car spare parts Shahrukh, 25, was standing with his friend Faizan at a bus stop when armed motorcyclists fired at them and sped away.

The wounded friends were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced Shahrukh dead while Faizan was admitted for treatment.

“It was an act of targeted killing,” said Nazimabad SHO Ejaz Lodhi.

Guard shot dead

A guard was killed near a bakery in PECHS Block 6 on Tuesday, police said.

They added that Zaheer Sattar, 20, was killed by another guard, Mohammed Taqi, near Ambala Bakery.
