QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker Mir Abdul Qaddus Bizenjo accepted on Monday the excuses offered by police officials for not giving protocol to MPAs during a recent meeting that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had at the Governor House.

Yasmin Lehri, who headed the house’s special committee, presented the report saying police officials had admitted that they had acted improperly when they did not give protocol to MPAs.

The MPAs had been invited to attend the meeting presided over by the prime minister during his visit to Quetta.

The deputy speaker expressed the hope that security officials would respect lawmakers at official functions in future.

Abdur Rahim Ziaratwal, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Information, on behalf of the minister for services and general administration, placed the Balochistan Public Commission’s Annual Report 2012 before the house.

Mr Ziaratwal said the next budget would be of around Rs200 billion out of which an amount of Rs45 billion would be allocated for development projects.

Obaidullah Babat, Liaquat Agha, Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai and Sardar Reza Muhammad Barach in their suggestions said that education and health sectors should be given priority in the next budget.

The session was adjourned till Wednesday.
