Rida, Maheen enter semis

ISLAMABAD: Rida Khalid faced stiff resistance from her opponent Mahvish Chishtie on the third day of the Subh-e-Nau Earth Day Ladies and Juniors Tennis Championship 2014.

In another match, Maheen disposed of her opponent Khunsha Baber from Lahore easily in straight sets. Rida and Maheen will now face each other in the semis.

Top seed M. Mudassir continued his winning spree to enter the semis. He beat his opponent Abdaal Haider in straight sets.

Results: Boys under 18 quarters: M. Mudassar beats Abdaal Haider 6-1,6-3; Zaid Mujahid beats Hafiz Arbab 6-3, 6-3; Nofil Kalim beats Mir Shahzab 6-0, 6-1; M.Muzamil beats Ilham Khan 5-7, 7-6(6),6-2; Ilham Khan beats M.Wamiq 6-0, 6-0.

Ladies singles –quarter finals

Maheen Aftab beats Khunsha Baber 6-2, 6-2

Rida Khalid beats Mahvish Chishtie 7-5, 6-1.
