BADIN: Talhar police acting upon a court order conducted a raid on the farmland of Fateh Mohammad Gaho late on Thursday night and recovered some peasants and their family members allegedly forced to do bonded labour.

The order was issued by the court of the second additional judge, Badin, on a complaint filed by a woman, Resham Kohli, who stated that her 23 relatives, including four women and 15 children, had been held by the landowner. She stated that their movement had been restricted to the farmland and they were not being given their due rights in cash and kind as per the relevant laws. She prayed to the court to get her relatives freed.

The Talhar police conducted a raid on the specified place on the farmland and found all 23 persons present there. The families were produced in the court on Friday and the judge set all of them freed.
