LAHORE: One of the world's largest hydropower construction company of China has offered to assist in upgrading various departments of the Pakistan Railways.

The offer was extended by a four-member delegation of Sinohydro Corporation, led by Engineer Liu Zhong, after a briefing by Pakistan Railways General Manager (Operations) Anjum Pervaiz at its headquarters in Lahore on Saturday.

The delegation members were informed that in the wake of the Pak-China Economic Corridor project, the importance and need for upgrading the Pakistan Railways had increased.

The Chinese delegation said they would inspect various departments of the Pakistan Railways and prepare a report to finalise any assistance by the Chinese company for upgrading Peshawar-Karachi main track and other facilities.
