LAHORE: Faisal Town investigation police on Tuesday obtained DNA samples of seven male members of a family in connection with the murder and rape of a 16-year-old maid and sent those to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for matching.

The maid was found dead in the house of her employer in Mocchipura a couple of days ago.

Police said the deceased's swabs had also been sent to the PFSA for matching with the samples of the suspects in order to identify the rapist(s) who later strangled the girl.

A police investigator told Dawn that initial medical report suggested sexual assault on the girl.

He said police initially took Sheikh Shaukat and his three sons into custody and booked them in a murder case and later also held his two sons-in-law in the light of medical report.

The investigator further said police would add Sections 376 (punishment of rape) and 377 (unnatural offences) in the FIR.
