PESHAWAR: At least one policeman was killed and three others wounded in a remote-control bomb explosion in Pathhar area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district, DawnNews reported.

A police van of Tank's Saddar police station was on routine patrol when it was struck by a remotely detonated explosive device planted on the roadside.

Security forces cordoned off the blast site as a probe into the incident went underway.

Separately in Charsadda's Prang area, at least three people were killed in an exchange of fire between two rival groups. The dead included a father and his two sons.

Moreover, in another incident in Charsadda, militants blew up a government girls school in the district's Dhab Bandha area on Thursday.

The school's gate was damaged in the explosion, whereas, the building also sustained partial damage.

There was no loss of life reported in the incident.
