KESC consumer’s plea

Published December 21, 2013

I AM disappointed that the KESC has disregarded the orders passed by the president of Pakistan. Four years ago it charged excessive money from me by including its patently illegal detection bill in my electricity bill.

I was forced to submit a complaint to the federal ombudsman, who duly considered the case in the light of material available on record, conducted hearing, then passed the decision on Aug 31, 2010, and ordered the KESC to refund the amounts/installments paid by me under duress.

The KESC then filed its version to the president of Pakistan against the federal ombudsman’s recommendation.

However, the president dismissed the representation made by the KESC as the recommendation of the federal ombudsman was not liable to be interfered with.

Three years have passed but the KESC has not refunded the money.

I pray to the authorities concerned to do the needful.
