KARACHI: Power cuts notified

Published July 10, 2006

KARACHI, July 9 : The KESC on Sunday said major upgradation work to reduce overloading and providing stable power supply would begin on Monday.

A KESC press release issued here said development work would improve supply to the areas being served by the grid stations of North Karachi, Valika, Orangi and Federal-A. Sixty-eight power supply feeders supply electricity to the consumers from these grids.

For the purpose of carrying out up gradation work shutdown of four feeders --- one from each grid station -- will be carried out for one hour on a rotational basis between July 10 and 15.

However, on July 10 complete shutdown will be affected from 10am to 2 pm on Valika, North Karachi, Nazimabad and North Nazimabad grid stations. Again on July 15 when the work will finish and the grid stations would be connected with the city network shutdown from 10am to 2pm would be carried out in their service areas. — PPI
