KARACHI, Jan 20: A seven-member delegation led by US ambassador-at- large, Francil Taylor, called on Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro at the Governor’s House and exchanged views on measures against terrorism and to control crimes, official sources said.

Governor Soomro apprised the visitors of the efforts made for weeding out crimes and elimination of terrorism from the province and informed them about steps taken like aerial surveillance and use of zoom lens cameras and other equipment.

Mr Soomro highlighted the need for modern equipment and better police training in this regard.

Francil Taylor agreed to the need for police training in anti-terrorism activities and availability of modern equipment and assured the government of their cooperation in this respect.

He promised the provision of training to police officers in the USA, specially in the field of forensic. The delegation members appreciated the steps taken for improvement of law and order under the guidance of the governor.—APP
