KARACHI: Bachat bazaar closed

KARACHI, Dec 5: The Bachat Bazar functioning at Jehangir Park has been closed down following a show-cause notice issued by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Justice (Retd) Haziqul Khairi to Saddar Town Nazim Farooq Memon Fariya.

The Provincial Ombudsman took suo motto action on a newsitem that a Bachat Bazar was functioning on a large portion of the Jehangir Park.

After his inspection with a team, a notice was issued to the Nazim of Saddar town to show-cause as to how he allowed the Bachat Bazar to function in a park.

Mr. Farooq Memon Fariya, Nazim Saddar town, appeared before the Ombudsman and submitted his reply stating that on the recommendations of the Nazim Union Council No 8, Saddar town, he had granted a permission to one Muhammad Hanif to hold a Bachat Bazar at Jehangir Park for a period of 90 days. However, on receipt of a show-cause notice, he had cancelled the permission.—APP
