Restructuring the UN

THERE has been a long debate for restructuring of the UN in order to keep balance of power and equality among nations. It is believed that the US dictates terms to the UN; be it Afghanistan’s invasion or the mythical ‘weapons of mass destruction’ in Iraq.

President Obama’s statement regarding an attack on Syria has alarmed those who are propagating the role of the UN as the international organisation for resolving issues. Mr Obama said the US neither wanted nor would wait for the UN council’s approval.
