ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervez Rashid, has said that homework had been done for launching an operation against miscreants in Karachi.

The strategy to restore peace would be finalised with the consensus of all political parties, said the minister while talking to a private news channel.

He said a special meeting of the federal cabinet would be held in Karachi on Tuesday to thrash out a strategy for taking on terrorists in the city.

The information minister said the proposed operation in Karachi would be supervised by the chief minister of Sindh and all federal security agencies would extend their full cooperation to him.

An indiscriminate action will be taken against miscreants, he added.

The minister said the Sindh governor, the chief minister and representatives of law enforcement agencies would attend the cabinet meeting.

In reply to a question, Mr Rashid said the government would utilise all options against criminals and gangsters.—APP

Nothing will be the output of this operation as federal government is not serious in resolving this issue. Head of this operation didn't do anything since last 6 years what change now he can bring?

Our leaders should listen, in case of any single innocent person death they will be held responsible on the day of judgement.

In Pakistan, all politicians are corrupt. ... only filling their pockets. Have no pain for common people.. see today petrol is Rs. 104!! What a joke with a common/ poor people!!!!!!!

Nawaz govt is truly following PPP road map of squeezing common people of Pakistan. ..

After creation of MQM there was fighting between PPP and MQM.Things were getting worse and army took notice and warn both of them and rate of killing was reduced. But now there are more than MQM and PPP.Therefore Army should take Sind govt in confidence and take action.God bless our beloved country.

The impotent CM of Sindh will spearhed this operation while the corrupt police and rangers will execute this operation. Poor karachites will have to endure another round of killing, and arrests while the main culprits will melt away or go into hiding.

Karachi needs governance by its citizens and not by feudals or khakis or from the centre or the provincial government. The city needs to be governed by its citizens and that requires changes in administrative and political structures. However, when Balochs even today go missing in broad day light (when the CM of Balochistan is a nationalist Balochi), the establishment will never allow karachi to be governed by its citizens.

Hence, I pray for the citizens of Karachi who will have to endure another operation at hands of Nawaz Sharif.
