WHAT is the purpose of streetlights when they have to be turned off at night when their light is actually needed the most. I personally have suffered a lot in Lahore.
The other night I had an accident on Multan Road just due to insufficient light on the road. I was not able to see anything because of rain and dim light around.
Everyone cannot afford high beam lights and luxury cars, so I would request the authorities to take action in this regard. If lights are turned off due to conservation of energy, then one must realise that this shouldn’t be done at the cost of precious human lives. If this is due to the usual laziness by the people concerned, then they should be sacked.

Street lights are there for "show-shaw". Why don't you have your lights on when driving. If you can't see properly with your own car lights, then you should not be driving at all at nights.

My sympathies are are with you.
Bad street lighting is one of the worst things you
can encounter on the road, especially at night
and in blinding rain.
All one can do, is make sure the windshield is
clean as possible inside and out, and your
headlights are clean and aimed properly. This way
you will at least have a positive chance in a bad
situation.
