MORE than 80 people have been killed by the army in Egypt. Even paramedics who have been involved in rescuing the wounded have been targeted by the army.

The situation in Egypt will become more violent in the coming days. The reason is that people are not able to make ends meet. Poverty has increased by up to 40 per cent in Egypt. Youths who had brought the Arab Spring are still unemployed.

If the army is deliberately killing them and subjecting them to excesses, how will they meet their demand? The army has become the final arbiter after Morsi’s exit.

Western and European countries seem to have buried their heads in the sand. The Arab Spring seems to have failed to bear fruit.
