ISLAMABAD: The FPSC had announced in June 2013 that a screening test would be introduced as a prerequisite to the CSS examinations 2014, but on Tuesday, it decided to cancel the test.

However, the screening test would be introduced for CSS examination 2015.

It would be a three-hour test based upon multiple choice questions carrying 200 marks, and would comprise of English vocabulary and grammar, general abilities, general knowledge and Islamiyat.

The screening test was being introduced because of the large number of candidates, as the test would help filter out potential candidates.

This would also reduce the workload of examiners who would thus receive fewer answer copies to be marked. However, the FPSC has to prepare for a re-test in Faisalabad and could not complete its preparations for the screening test.— A Reporter
