LAHORE, May 26: Robbers plundered cash and valuables worth Rs2.8 million in five strikes in the city on Sunday.

Four robbers barged into the house of Burhan Ahmad in Racecourse police station limits, held all family members at gunpoint and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs1.5 million.

Three robbers stormed into the house of Sufyan Ali in Faisal Town police station jurisdiction and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs1.2 million.

In another incident, a gang of three armed men plundered cash and valuables worth thousands from five people, including Muhammad Arshad, in Fateh Garh in Harbanspura police station precinct.

Two gunmen approached Afzal and his family in Fazal Park in Shadbagh police station limits and snatched cash, jewellery and cell phones from them.

Two robbers stopped Abbas in Shahdara Town police station jurisdiction and deprived him of Rs30,000 in cash and a cell phone.

Thieves took away the motorcycle of Qasim Raza in Qasim Block in Iqbal Town police station limits.

DROWNS: An eight-year-old boy was feared drowned in the River Ravi on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 Water Teams searched the missing child with no breakthrough till late evening.

Shahdara police said victim Subhan had come to Bara Darri along with his family for recreation. He apparently slipped into the water and disappeared.

Rescuers managed to save the life of a young man who was swimming in the BRB Canal near PSO Petrol Pump.

A Rescue 1122 ambulance shifted him to the Ghurki Hospital.

CAR FALLS IN CANAL: A car driven by a woman fell into the canal near Thokar Niaz Baig, leaving three family members injured.

Police said the victims were rescued by some bystanders. The names of victims were not immediately known.
