MQM chief directs workers to halt all protests

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday directed all party workers to postpone all ongoing protests until further notice, DawnNews reported.

Furthermore, the MQM chief called an emergency meeting of all party units in Karachi, including the Muttahida Organising Committee (MOC), its labour division, Rabita Committee, Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC), Sindh Tanzeemi Committee and the women’s wing, to be held on Tuesday evening at 6pm at Azizabad’s Lal Qila Ground.

The directive from the party chief came in the wake of tensions in the city’s political climate that emerged after allegations against Hussain following the killing of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) office-bearer, Zahra Shahid.

Shahid’s killing took place hours before re-polling began at 43 polling stations of Karachi’s NA-250 constituency. The re-polling, which was boycotted by MQM and Pakistan Peoples Party, saw PTI candidate Arif Alvi emerge victorious from the National Assembly seat with MQM’s Khushbakht Shujaat as runner-up.

Well said Mr. Hussain. This will give the citizens a chance to go to work and finish necessary outdoor work. Imran Khan spoke out of turn in a very biased manner. Pakistanis must stop looking at the white skin, blue-eyed boy with as a cricket icon and start recognizing a racist. Salams

How can a country prosper when every day there is strike or closure due to killings etc especially in a business hub like Karachi. People in pakistan should stop strikes and work hard to achieve respect all over the world. Success can be achieved if Pakistanis are UNITED

Unofficial report shows that in NA25 before the repolling that MQM candidate was leading but after the repolling the difference become 37000 votes although only 13000 vote were casted in repolling to PTI. It means a massive rigging is being done by establishment of 24000 votes casted to MQM were diverted to PTI candidate. This shows that Establishment & all political parties which are against MQM including corrupt & paid media wants a disturbance in Karachi. No one has a voice against this injustice. What a shame.

MQM has to seriously think about lts leadership , almost 30 years have been passed and MQM still in the same place where it started, it failed to penetrate in Pakistan. For God sake Altaf Hussain is a leader of MQM, not God.
