NAWABSHAH, Nov 6: Members of the student wing of a ruling political party beat up the principal of Government Sachal Sarmast Degree College of Nawabshah, a teacher and an external, and tore up answer sheets of other students over the expulsion of a fake candidate from the examination hall here on Tuesday.

Principal Rustam Khaskheli told reporters that Roshan Ali Rajper, an external of Sindh University, had caught a candidate appearing on behalf of a student, Ghulam Rasool Rustmani, on seat No 4231.

He said the external had taken away the student’s answer sheet and asked the fake candidate to leave the examination hall. But after a while the impersonator came back with seven to eight other persons and beat up the external, teacher Sattar Pirzada and other staff members.

The staff boycotted examination duty after the incident, he said.

Prof Aurangzeb Bhangwar, an office-bearer of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), told reporters that they would continue the boycott of examination duties unless the culprits were arrested.

Later, the Airport police on the complaint of Principal Prof Rustam Khaskheli booked Ghulam Rasool Rustmani and six unidentified persons under Sections 337-L2 Qss, 419, 506, 148, 147, 353 and 188 PPC.
