THIS is with regards to the day upon day ordeals faced by women when it comes to commuting in public buses. Being a regular traveler, I have experienced a number of times that men who upon not finding any vacant seats for themselves occupy seats in the women’s region.

The women compartment which is already unfairly marginalised (less than 1/3rd of the size of the bus) is hardly able to accommodate a good number of women, at any rate. Thus, women are left with no choice but to stand. Women rather chose to get down well before their destination owing to the awkward position they had been subjected to.

I request this nation to portray some level of consideration in public avenues at least. Traveling for women in this country is a trial itself, so I humbly appeal not to make affairs any more difficult than they already are.
