KARACHI, July 2: The judicial magistrate (west) on Saturday remanded an alleged militant in judicial custody in an illicit weapon case.
The crime investigation department of police arrested Nazeer Ahmed on June 23 within the remit of the Pirabad police station and claimed to have recovered an unlicensed weapon from his possession.
The magistrate sent the suspect in prison on judicial remand till July 6 and directed the investigation officer to submit a charge-sheet on the next hearing.
The CID alleged that he was an activist of the prescribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and wanted in a number of cases in Swat.
The CID police had registered a case against Nazeer Ahmed under Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance, 1965 for possessing illicit arms at the CID police station.
