QUETTA, May 15: An officer of Balochistan Constabulary escaped a bomb attack and an office of the National Database and Registration Authority was damaged in a separate explosion on Sunday. Sources said that SP Manzoor Bangulzai of the Balochistan Constabulary was passing through Maingundi area on the Quetta-Mastung road in a convoy when a roadside bomb exploded, damaging his vehicle.

No one was injured.

“It was a bomb detonated by remote control and the Balochistan Constabulary officer was the target,” police sources said. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for attackers, but no arrest was reported.

In the other incident, an electric pylon was destroyed and a Nadra office and four vehicles were damaged when a bomb placed near the pylon on the Airport Road exploded.
