LANDI KOTAL, March 10: Militants blew up a government school for girls in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber tribal region on Thursday.

The residents of the area said that the two-room building of the school in Sadukhel area turned into rubble when explosives, planted inside it, went off around midnight.

They said that the blast was so powerful that it also caused damage to the nearby houses. Luckily nobody was hurt in the blast, they added. Militants have so far destroyed about 31 government schools in Khyber Agency during the last one year. —Correspondent
