SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 5: A six-month-old baby died of burn injuries in her mother’s lap when her father threw acid on them in Chattha Colony here on Monday.Her mother Firdaus Bibi was also critically burnt.
Accused Tariq, who is stated to be an addict, demanded money from his wife. On her refusal, Tariq threw acid on her, killing his daughter Aqsa and injuring Firdaus. She was admitted to the burn unit of Mayo Hospital, Lahore, where her condition was stated to be stable.
The Factory Area police got registered a case against Tariq and started investigation.
TAXI LOOTED: Three robbers took away a taxi at gunpoint from driver Javed.
The accused hired the taxi from Kala Shah Kaku. When they reached a barren place on GT road, they threw Javed off the vehicle and drove away with the car. Ferozewala police are investigating.
Also, a youth, Aziz, was run over by a truck near Ferozewala courts on GT Road.
