GHALANAI: Tribe asked to hand over militant

By Our Correspondent

GHALANAI, Jan 3: The political administration on Saturday asked elders of the Haleemzai tribe of the Mohmand Agency to hand over a militant, Wajeehullah, by Jan 8, or face action.

The authorities shifted three close relatives of the militant arrested under the Frontier Crimes Regulation to the Peshawar Central Jail on Saturday.

They said the family members would be set free after Wajeehullah surrendered to the government.

Houses of the three relatives of the militant have also been demolished under the collective responsibility clause of the FCR.

Officials said the political administration had served a notice on the elders of the Haleemzai tribe to produce the militant by Jan 8, otherwise they would face action under the law.

The tribe has already handed over more than 100 wanted people to the administration.
