CHARSADDA/GHALANAI, Nov 27: Three militants were killed and several others injured during a ‘clean-up operation’ in Badi Kore, Aisha Korona and Qella Shah Beg areas of Mohmand region on Thursday.

Official sources said that four suspected militants had been arrested.

Security forces blew up the Taliban Shariah court building and residences of Tehrik-i-Taliban’s Michini chief Abu Haneefa, area in-charge Qazi Ibadullah, Commander Akhail and Malak Mohibullah.

Four vehicles were damaged during the operation.

SP Riaz told newsmen that the operation would continue till the elimination of militants and establishment of government’s writ.

He called upon the local people to help the troops who were trying to restore peace and root out militancy from the Pakhtun soil.

On Wednesday night, helicopter gunships pounded militants’ hideouts in Cheenari, Alingar, Khazena and other areas of Qandaharo in Lakaro tehsil.Two suspected militants and a civilian were killed and 12 people were injured in an exchange of fire which took place after militants attacked a camp in Mamad Gat with mortars and rockets.
