MIRPURKHAS, Nov 26: The civil judge and judicial magistrate-II of Mirpurkhas has ordered formation of a medical board to exhume the body of a man allegedly killed in police custody and conduct post-mortem examination.

Mohammad Ismail Dal, through Mohammad Shafi advocate had filed an application with a request to order post-mortem of the body of Ahmed Khan Dal.

The judge ordered to constitute a medical board which will exhume the body from the graveyard near Seed Farm on Nov 27 at 11am for conducting post-mortem. The court further directed that the complainant should be present there as a witness to the proceeding.

Ahmed Khan Dal, a supporter of PML-F was allegedly killed in the custody of Town police on July 15, 2008, and his mysterious death sparked protest by the PML-F workers. No FIR was lodged as the cause of death was declared heart failure in an earlier post-mortem report.

A relative of deceased Mohammad Ismail Dal had moved a constitutional petition in the Sindh High Court and the court ordered to lodge a murder case. The case was registered with Old Mirpur police against inspector Mohammad Ayoub Dars, ASI Roshan Leghari, police personnel Nawaz Narejo, Ali Khan Narejo, Mohammad Qasim Narejo and a private person Ghulam Haider Narejo. The DPO Mirpurkhas suspended all nominated police officials of that case.

Later, Old Mirpur investigation police disposed the case in “C” class and DIG Mirpurkhas reinstated inspector Mohammad Ayub Dars and transferred and posted him as the SPO Umerkot.

Presently he was performing the duty as SPO Satellite town Mirpurkhas. Remaining police officials were reinstated by the DPO Mirpurkhas.
