ISLAMABAD, Nov 19: Pakistan Muslim League-Q leaders have finally agreed to convene a meeting of the Central Executive Committee on Saturday and of the Central Working Committee on Sunday to discuss differences over the party’s leadership.
PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will preside over the meetings.
However, the main dissident faction has accused the party leadership of altering the composition of the Central Executive Committee and releasing the names of 54 members, although clause 52(a) of the party constitution puts the number at 30.
Moreover, leaders of the faction say, the list does not include the names of Gen Majeed Malik who quit the post of senior vice-president but remains a member of the Central Executive Committee, senior vice-president Akram Zaki, vice-president Lala Nisar, party’s Sindh chapter president Arbab Ghulam Rahim, senior vice-president Awais Leghari and Sumaira Malik.
They also say that the list includes the names of Rashid Akbar Khan who has joined the PML-N and Imran Nasim who has joined the PPP.
