KARACHI: Art seminar

KARACHI, Oct 22: A two-day regional art seminar under the theme of “The anxious century: discourses waiting to be born”, will kick off on Saturday (October 25) at the Goethe-Institut Karachi. Along with local art critics and artists, critics from Germany, Iran, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will present papers at the seminar.

This was announced at a press conference held at the Institut’s auditorium on Wednesday.

Papers will be presented on the sub-themes of “Multiple modernities — reclaiming cultural space”, “Canons of control and subordination”, “Art market: an uncertain progress” and “Transformed by technology”. The South Asia Journal for Culture will also be launched at the seminar.

The event is being organised by the Goethe-Institut Pakistan and NuktaArt, a local contemporary art magazine. —Staff Reporter
